Awakened Heart: The Indo-Tibetan Psychology of Compassion

The Gradual Path to Awakening (Lam Rim) is marked by three major realizations: Renunciation, Compassion and Correct View of Reality. In this set of four classes we explore the second realization, the heart of compassion that seeks Awakening for the benefit of all beings.  Dr. Neale exposes the science and positive psychology that makes pro-social emotions such as love and compassion not just lofty spiritual goals but biologically innate potentials that can be athletically cultivated for the purpose of sustainable happiness and civilized living.  Lectures are supplemented by group practice of role-modeling visualization adapted from the classical Tibetan style combined with contemplations on the Eight Verses of Mind Training (Lojong). Recorded live at the Tibet House.
