Capitalism, Ecology and Activism: Interview with EcoActivist Chris Williams

Buddhist psychotherapist Dr. Miles Neale interviews Eco-Activist Professor Chris Williams about the nature of the widespread ecological devastation and the enormous economic inequity that the world currently faces.  The interview is intended to introduce contemplative practitioners of Buddhism and Yoga to the inherently flawed political, economic and cooperate systems that preclude human flourishing and the natural balance of the biosphere.  Interview concludes with some practical recommendations about how to contribute to a more sustainable future for all.

Chris Williams is a long-time environmental activist and author of Ecology and Socialism: Solutions to Capitalist Ecological Crisis (Haymarket, 2010) and was recently awarded a Lannan Cultural Freedom Fellowship to work on his second book regarding the Commons. He is chair of the Science Department at Packer Collegiate Institute and adjunct professor at Pace University in the Department of Chemistry and Physical Science.
