Wise Compassion: The Psychology of Exchanging Self and Other
Buddhist psychotherapist Dr. Miles Neale delivers a public talk on wise compassion in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13, 2015. He discusses the essential teachings of Universal Vehicle Buddhism including non-dualism, interconnectivity and altruism in light of the rise of fundamentalism, and examines its core meditative practice of compassion in light of modern neuroscience and psychotherapy. The lecture follows selected verses from the classic, eight century, Indo-Tibetan text Guide to the Altruist’s Way of Life by Master Shantideva. Recorded live at the Institute of Traditional Medicine, Toronto.
